First Methodist believes all its members are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ, and part of the process of being a disciple is to grow in Jesus Christ. Disciples place their faith in Jesus; constantly strive to learn more about him; seek to learn their spiritual gifts; and eagerly look for ways to be in service for our Lord. Some of the opportunities for growth as a disciple of Jesus Christ are listed below.

Sunday School for Adults

Classes begin at 9:45 am on Sunday morning. Click here for current list of classes and ages.

Disciple

This is a great long-term (9 months) class for people who would like a good overview of the Bible.

Advanced Disciple Studies

These long term classes are offered to those who have completed Disciple.

Disciple 2, 3, 4 are bible studies that cover a portion of the bible.

Jesus and the Gospels cover the gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Christian Believer is a study of the church doctrines.

Short-Term Studies

Classes are offered on various topical and biblical subjects throughout the year. These are generally six to ten weeks long.

Alpha

Class is for those who want to learn more about the Christian faith. This class is 13 weeks long and includes a retreat.

Membership

Class for those who have not joined the church to learn more about Methodism and what it means to be a member of the church.

Parenting Classes

Single-evening classes are offered in conjunction with First Friends Preschool throughout the year for various kinds of parenting situations and concerns. These classes are open to all in the community.
