God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the mountains be toppled into the depths of the sea; Though its waters rage and foam, and though the mountains tremble at its tumult. The LORD of hosts is with us; the GOD of Jacob is our stronghold. – Psalm 46
Dear Members, Newcomers, and Friends of FUMC Hallsville,
It is hard to imagine a more challenging time for our world, our nation, or even our church than the ordeal that we have all been through. But our God is faithful, and it is time for us to re-engage in the life of the church!
As you consider your commitment to support the mission of our church in 2022, be mindful of God’s faithfulness and trust in the Lord. While we can face uncertainty, we can be assured that God’s grace will see us through to new opportunities and new challenges in service to the Kingdom of God. We ask that you now re-engage and persevere. Look beyond the turmoil of this moment and recognize that our Lord’s faithfulness is timeless and everlasting.
We are staying connected through Sunday worship, the launch of our brand new Mosaic Worship service, and Christian formation for all ages. We have brought on a full time person for Children and Communications, and the church is once again bustling on Wednesday nights with all kinds of activity. It is has also been an amazing year of blessing with many people joining the church this year. We continue to serve some of the community’s most vulnerable through our First Friends Preschool, Hallsville Outreach Center, Asbury House, Newgate Mission, Living Water, Texas Ramp Project, and others.
We hope you’ll participate in the 2022 Stewardship Campaign by engaging in all the church has to offer, both this Fall and beyond, and in supporting church life by making a pledge. To thrive and sustain, we need you as continued good stewards and givers of the resources available to you and all of us from God. For some, finances may have changed drastically. For others, financial resources are stable or better. Some may have more time and talent to share. For others, time and talent may feel harder to share. Whatever your circumstance, we ask you to share as generously as you can by faith and to let us know of your commitment by Pledge Sunday, October 31st. You can fill out an electronic pledge card by clicking on the graphic above or by clicking here:
Please prayerfully consider the instrumental ways in which you might invest in the life of FUMC Hallsville and pledge either online or by returning a physical Pledge Card to the church office by October 31st.
Thank you for your continued support of each other, our clergy, staff and operations, and the vibrancy of our church. Your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness are integral blessings to the fulfillment of our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our resilience, connection, and commitment to FUMC Hallsville is bound to open God’s kingdom here and now in ways we can’t even imagine or dream of.
With great hope for times to come,
Rev. Brian Brooks,
Senior Pastor Susan
